Preview and Virtual Server

I'm having the problem that my preview server is not working. 

I have setup a wildcard DNS: *.ip.docs.xx.com (actual domain changed to protect my server)

and set the virtualization server to use (virtual-tomcat/conf/alfresco-virtserver.properties)

alfresco.virtserver.domain=ip.docs.xx.com
‍‍‍

my alfresco.sh starts with JAVA_OPTS which includes -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (actual numbers are there)

My Alfresco instance seems to start up ok (alfresco.log):

Can anyone point me to what I'm doing wrong? 

The only thing that I have been able to track is this bug:
    https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-1824
which may be related, but I'm not sure.  The bug was resolved, but I don't know what the resolution was.

The JIRA you mention (https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF-1824) was been marked as resolved for Enterprise 3.3.2. Those code changes have also been merged to HEAD targeted for Community 3.4.x (hence after Community 3.3g).

One option might be to check whether your issue is resolved in the latest "nightly" build (http://dev.alfresco.com/downloads/nightly/dist/) by downloading and setting up a completely separate test instance ? Please bear in mind that the "nightly" builds are unstable/untested and should be used for dev-only (ie. temporary) testing.

Alternatively, are you able to compare to a separate setup using non-Linux boxes ?

I have checked (and used) an alternate copy of the same version of virtual-tomcat that works on another server (MAC), but it has the same issue when I run it under RHEL5 (which is a virtual host…)

I will try the nightly build to see if that makes a difference.
