Hello,

OS: Centos 5.5
Alfresco version: 3.4a
Installation mode: text
Installed JRE: Sun 1.6.0 Update 20
SELinux mode: Permissive

I get the following message during installation;
 Installing
0% ______________ 50% ______________ 100%
########################################Warning: Problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete
correctly
Error running /opt/alfresco-3.4.a/java/bin/java -jar

/opt/alfresco-3.4.a/tomcat/webapps/alfresco.war -directory -nobackup : Error: no
`server
' JVM at `/opt/alfresco-3.4.a/java/jre/lib/i386/server
/libjvm.so'.
Press [Enter] to continue :
When I try to start Alfresco I get the following;
sh /opt/alfresco-3.4.a/alfresco.sh start
/opt/alfresco-3.4.a/openoffice/scripts/ctl.sh : openoffice started at port 8100
Using CATALINA_BASE:   /opt/alfresco-3.4.a/tomcat
Using CATALINA_HOME:   /opt/alfresco-3.4.a/tomcat
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /opt/alfresco-3.4.a/tomcat/temp
Using JRE_HOME:        /opt/alfresco-3.4.a/java
Using CLASSPATH:       /opt/alfresco-3.4.a/tomcat/bin/bootstrap.jar
/opt/alfresco-3.4.a/tomcat/scripts/ctl.sh : tomcat started
But when I check the status of my installation I get;
sh /opt/alfresco-3.4.a/alfresco.sh status
tomcat not running
openoffice already running

Has anyone seen this behavior before?  What can I do to get my installation up and running?

Found the answer on these forums…

I had to run dos2unix /opt/alfresco-3.4a/java/jre/lib/i386/jvm.cfg
