Pools and Lanes

When, in Modeller, I drag a couple of Lanes to the inside of a Pool, it creates the lanes as if they are sequential. They each cover the full width of the pool. I was expecting them each to cover half the width of the pool, but its full length, so I can model concurrent activities by different people/teams. How do I create lanes like this?

Here's what it looks like in Modeller:

And here's the sort of thing I want to achieve:

Try dropping the new Lane on the label of the Pool or parent Lane.

Thanks for your suggestion. This seems to work, and allows me to create the lanes as I want them.

Does the other representation (with all the lanes on top of each other) mean anything? If not, why does Modeler let me create them like this?

Thanks - Rowan

I dont believe it has any meaning in BPMN.

I assume that it is something which is valid in other modeling languages, that is baked into the core of the Modeler.
