Hi,
sorry if this question seems too basic, I'm new to alfresco…
I set this rule in a space:
Rule Type: inbound
Name: Let me know when a doc arrives
Description: Let me know when a doc arrives
Apply rule to sub spaces: No
Run rule in background: No
Disable rule: No
Conditions: All Items
Actions: Send email to 'Axel de Beaune'

Though email functionality is working (I can use it otherwise), I'm not rcving any message when I upload a file into this space, nor when I paste one there from another space…

Have I forgotten something? (seems pretty basic no?)
Thanks a lot for bringing light,
Axel

I presume you have setup email configuration in your custom repository.properties using the instructions in http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Repository_Configuration?

Do you see any errors in the Tomcat console?

Hi Gavinc, thanks for your answer.
I had a look at Repository config but did not understand it fully. In fact I'vent access to the server, only web client… though I am granted Admin privilege. Note that trouble occurs (email not sent) when I'm logged under my user login.
If there were something wrong with repository.properties, could I then invite people (including myself) or email space users (me or others)?

In fact, I just found out that if instead of using the invite form to send email I only entered a comment, then the email is sent!
But the form shouldn't be wrong because I use it Ok when inviting people to specific spaces… What is great is it generates a link which bring them directly to the right place.

Any hint? I still would like to send email to myself when anybody is posting a file or discussion post in the spaces I'm managing. And if it could tell me where to look it would be better!

Thanks again,
Axel
