Personalized search dialog

I would like to perform my own "search dialog", I'll explain it:

Normaly in alfresco, when you press the "advanced search" button, there are too many fields to fill or too many options to search for and for a final user, it can be too much. So, I would need to build my own search dialog with, for instance, just two properties to search for. Besides, I would like to have it stored in "public searches" for other users to use it as well.

Can I do it modifing the web-client-config-custom.xml in my alfresco/extension folder??? Could anyone give me a clue about this topic, please?

You only can extend the advanced search form in the Alfresco Explorer.
If you need a different type of HTML form you have to implement your own using any MVC framework externally. In this way you also need to perform queries remotely using one of the remote Alfresco APIs: Web Services, WebScripts or CMIS.
