Permanently Deleting Files/Items from Alfresco

Hi,

I would be grateful if someone could show me how to permanently delete files/spaces from Alfresco. I am logged in as Admin in the Alfresco Explorer, and I cannot see any kind of “Recycle Bin” – in Windows Terminology.

In the forums it seems to be mentioned that there is a “Manage Deleted Items”. Where do I find this when logged in as Admin.

I am sorry if this is too obvious, but I am new to Alfresco.

Thanks,
O.O.

Hi O.O.,

Find below to steps to access "Manage Deleted Item" functionality:

1. Login as admin
2. Click on the "User Profile" icon in header area.
3. At the bottom of page there is "Management" Section.
4. Click on the link to "Manage Deleted Items".

Hope it Helps.

Thanks and Regards,
Algoworks

Thanks Algoworks. Yes that worked (sort of), thanks for pointing that out. I wish that were documented somewhere.

By the way, the files still seem to be in alf_data\contentstore ??? I was expecting them to be moved to the contentstore.deleted directory – or deleted from the file system. Any ideas?

Thanks again,
O.O.
