Hi ,

Am trying to figure out the scalability and performance of Alfresco version 3 (Enterprise  Network Edition).

PS: I did have a look at the "Benchmark Results: Scalability of Alfresco Content Management System in a Unisys ES7000/one Enterprise Server Environment" white paper.

Do we have any stats available for the latest release ?

Dear Friends,
I am planning to use Alfresco document management system for my project. Want to know more details about the performance/scalibility of alfresco community edition ( open source).
Eg: How much the speed to upload one document of 1MB size?
How many documents can be uploaded at a time? Wat is the max. number of docs it can store (any limit)
How about the performance?
can we integrate alfresco document management system with other applications like oracle forms/Java applications.

Request you to throw some light on these points.

Regards,
Raj.

Each of your questions will require lengthy answers.

That will probably be determined by your network ie the time taken to transmit the data to alfresco rather than the time taken by alfresco itself.

You can configure the number of parallel threads handling the http protocol, so if you have the resources you can push the number up.  So say at least 100 on a fairly small system.  There's no real upper limit to the number of documents it can store,  It rater depends upon what you need to do with the documents within alfresco and your hardware and configuration.   I think the rule of thumb is 100 concurrent operations per node, but that's probably on the low side these days.    You will need to think about how you index stuff as you go over about 10 million docs.

There are many different APIs provided by Alfresco.   You should even be able to use Oracle Forms.
