Override Explorer based on Group Membership

Is it possible to override web client config for users based on group membership? Are there examples of this anywhere?

I have looked at this: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Web_Client_Configuration_Guide

In general groups are linked to permissions.    And it is those permissions that control whether various actions or resources are visible.

Perhaps if you gave examples of what sort of behaviour you want to over-ride in Explorer then people could point you to examples.

So, for example, members of a particular group do not see the option to start an advanced workflow in the actions menu for a content object.
