Operating System and Web Server

I am thinking of using Alfresco.
What is the best OS and Web Server to use for Alfresco.

We tend to use Windows OS and IIS here for most of our applications, are theses any good for hosting Alfresco?

Best is in the eye of the beholder.    But generally alfresco is run on Linux / Apache / Tomcat

Use whatever platform your admins prefer.
