In Alfresco has functionality to Microsoft Office in the form of Microsoft Office add-ins. And where a similar add-ins for Open Office?? For example, I want to completely abandon Microsoft Office in favor of Open Office  Smiley Happy

i want to use edit online feature for open office documents is there any plugin available  soo that we can edit online the open office documents like ms office documents.please reply ASAP

It is possible using libreoffice (version 4.0.x) to have direct access to alfresco documents natively :
http://www.documentfoundation.org/
LibreOffice interface will allow you to make the "Checkout / cCeckIn" and update either minor or major version with a comment.
