Office Plugin + NTLM + Webdav

Has anyone managed to get this working? It seems really flakey on our setup… if I disable NTLM on the webdav servlet then it works just fine.

Is NTLM  correctly implemented in the Office Plugin?

Cheers

Hi,

I'm working also on the integration of the office plugin with ntlm authentication.

I think NTLM is not implemented in the plugin, because it receives the 401 error, and try to send again the request.

Did you get some new results?

Hi,

I've been chasing this up with support. I agree with you that it doesn't seem to use NTLM (looking at the source) but it does use embedded IE which would mean NTLM should work. I'll let you know if I get any more info.

Hi Dinger,

Thanks for your reply.

I already downloaded the VS project for the office 2003 plug-in. I'm going to take a look, and if i found anything out i'll let you know.

David.

I have been selling the alfresco concept to my team for a while now, demonstrating the office plugin was a big hit.. I did it with standard alfreso user database but production system will be using ntlm + sso, I have started setting this up and the office plugin just keeps re-opening the login dialog when i try to login.. won't let me close or cancel it, have to kill office from task manager!

Has anyone managed to find a possible solution/workaround to this issue? (that doesn't involve disabling ntlm sso that is Smiley Happy)

You don't say which version you're trying to set-up, but you could try installing a new Office client - that bug was fixed a while back.

Hi,

Sorry for not including that information to start with,

Alfresco version is 2.1.0
ms office version is 2003 (11.8206.8202) SP3
alfresco office extension is alfresco-community-office2003-addins-2.1.0

As far as I'm aware, that's fairly up to date.

Thanks,

Alan

Try grabbing the v3.0 add-ins from the nightly build server - they've not changed from v2.9 (apart from the version number) which has the bug fixes in.

Is there a fix for Webdav + NTLM access?

Cheers

No - I hadn't realised it was a problem. Please raise a JIRA or support request detailing as much as possible.

Thanks,
Mike
