Office Plugin Installation issue

I am trying to re-install the office plugin (2.1) which I hade removed before upgrading to office 2007.  When I run the installer for any product (word, excel, powerpoint) i get an error when it tries to update the Windows registry.
"Could not write value to key \Software\Classes\AlfrescoWord2003 Verify that you have suficient access to that key…"

I checked and the key is still hanging around from the old install.  I try to delete it and windows will not let me (I am logged in as administrator).

Any Ideas?
Thanks

Although I've never seen that error, it looks possibly like the add-in might still be running, or an Office application has started and has loaded the add-in. Have you restarted since uninstalling the add-in?

One possibility that springs to mind is that Office can preload certain parts of the suite upon startup (I think it's called Office Fast Start or something similar..?). That might well also try to load the add-in, which would lock that registry key. Try stopping that process from loading and try the add-in installer again.

Thanks,
Mike

I was able to delete the key.  I looked at the security on the keys in regedit and only had system as having access.  I added myself with full control and then deleted them.

I ran the install and it completed successfully but I do not see anything in Word 2007.  I read some posts that said these components work with office 2007 but I am not sure how to access them.  I thought they would show up on the ad-ins tab where I see my "Adobe Contribute", blog, and bluetooth ad-ins.

Any idea how to get these to show up in office 2007?

Thanks

Did you see the notes about Office 2007 on the wiki?

I installed the 2.9B version and it the component now shows up on the add-ins tab!

Something must have been fixed since the 2.1 version was released.
