Hi every one!

I'm new using Alfresco.

I use a Sharp OCR software to extract metadata from scanned documents, work´s good. When i search the document for a specific content  at Alfresco, work's good.

My question is: How can i extract especific data from predefined zones of the document, using this data to rename the file and save this file in another space?

for example:

Scan the document.

extract from the document from predefined zones the following data:

Document code: 05B.02.REM
IMR: 080001
Date: 14/05/08
Module: 02
Level: B1
Task: REMOVAL

Rename the file:

Document1:05B02REM–rev53-140508

Save the file in a space.
I know it can be done with rules.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Did you find any solution for that?
I'm very interesting in reading images and extract metadata. Could you tell me some steps about how integrate a OCR software in alfresco and extract metadata information?
Is OCR Sharp a free software?

Thanks very much in advance

hi,

Actually, Alfresco allow the users to create the Aspect (Key search field) to put all your information from the OCR to the alfresco properties. Also, you could put the text file along with the file to be the file properties by doing some rules.

But, for the rename file from the OCR Zone, the core content could not do like that so you need the importing Modules from

http://www.alfresco-plugin.com

or

http://www.qdoclive.com

I see the demo plugin module in these website
