No Version 3.4b Space Templates after Update from 2.1

Hi fellows,

I don't really know if this is a configuration Issue. Please move the thread if it is missplaced.

I managed to update my alfresco 2.1 to => 3-labs and then to => 3.4b.

Now I tried to create new spaces using one of the new space templates…like the Image Gallery Template.
But they are not there. I only have the standard Templates from 2.1 like "Software Development Project" and "Technical Projects".

Do I have to reconfigure something or download the new Templates somewhere?

Oh yeah…I also noticed something strange in the repository information. It says:

Installed Schema   64
Installed Version   2.1.0 (484)
Server Schema           4111
Server Version            3.4.0 (b 3262)

Why still Version 2.1.0?

Thank in Advance

Where have you seen "Image Gallery Template"?

Installed Schema   64
Installed Version   2.1.0 (484)
Server Schema           4111
Server Version            3.4.0 (b 3262)

Why still Version 2.1.0?

That's not strange - that shows what version you originally installed; it will never change.

Thanks,
Mike

Yeah…that was my assumption.
So..

Anyone knows why my space templates are still 2.1-style?

I thought that the Thumbnail-extension (Gallery Space) is available since 3.3.

The space templates haven't been updated since v2.1; I think you may be confusing two different things.

Again, where have you seen "Image Gallery Template"?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike, thanks a lot for your reply.

Sorry I overread your question your first post.

I have seen those so called "Project Spaces" including "Image Gallery" on:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Project_Spaces

If you read the discussion about this page you will see that I am not the only one with this question. 😃

BUUUUUT:
Point Number one: I am happy that I did not break my system during the update.
Point Number two: I still do not know how to get image galleries into my alfresco which are really needed.

Again. Thanks for your reply. 😃

Ah right. OK. You're forgiven for getting confused. A little background:

Alfresco v2.9 was a "technology preview" to judge if we wanted to add collaboration features to the Explorer (JSF) client, or start afresh with a branch new client. Share is a direct result of that preview process and v2.9 exists no more. Project Spaces weren't carried forward from v2.9, as they'd never be as rich as the full Share application and we didn't want to maintain two separate technologies solving similar problems.

As for your requirement, there's an Image Gallery dashlet in Share and we now support a good set of EXIF metadata via the Forms Service (again, via Share).

Hope this clears things up?

Thanks,
Mike
