Hello,

my name is Ruben and I work for a travel company in germany, berlin.

I'm in the process of testing alfresco community 3.3. I looked but did no find an answers/solutions to the following 3 issues:

1)
I upload a file via webdav. After that, it appears in the explorer space
BUT! It does not get indexed, so that the search function does not work. Do I have to switch on automatic indexing somewhere?

2)
I upload a file to a space via alfresco explorer. Then I search for some content of the file and get a hit. Then I edit the file via webdav. After that, a search for the same content as the first time does not give any hits anymore.

3)
A search for say "test" does not return any results even if a file contains "test1". Only when I search for "test*" I get results. This is not "google" type search and users will not like it…


Could anyone point me in the right direction with these issues?

please, could someone point me at least in the right direction? Maybe the questions don't make any sense and I am missing something esential? If so, please give me a little push, I really searched but could not find any answers.

Hello,

thank you for your answer.

I was trying to edit pure text and open office files (writer).

My main concern however is: how do I manage to get a simple text file (full text-)indexed after uploading it to a space via webdav.

Could someone please point me in the right direction? This is essential for going further…

my solution:
Automatic indexing does not work per default when using webdav (don't know why).
Use CIFS instead. There it works perfectly out of the box.
