Newbie Installation - Can't get any joy from categories

I have a fairly basic doc management scenario involving categories, I'm trying a fresh install of community edition, but when I go to category manager instead of the predefined categories in the manual it's empty.

If I try to add one I get

"Please correct the errors below then click OK.

"    * A system error happened during the operation: 02180062 Missing classification: {http://www.alfresco.org/model/content/1.0}generalclassifiable"

Any clues?

Yuck. Something is broken. Is this the binary installer, a WAR-only install, or a build from source? Which specific version?

It was the binary installer on linux (ubuntu server) latest version community edition 4.0.d

I wiped it out and installed again - and it is indeed fixed. Just suprised that there were no install errors from the first attempt and everything appeared to work except categories.
