new alfresco install on debian doesn't work

After trying to find some indications on how to actually accomplish the install I came across this http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Debian_Installation and followed the instructions. Now when I try to access "http://192.168.1.12/alfresco" Firefox presents a page load error, with a network timeout…

Which I really don't believe the last line of…

Any help would be great, I have no idea what is going wrong here. I have been reading for the last 2 days trying to figure out what the problem is, and have been slowly getting it to work better (previous issues where name resolution and imagemagick)

well, I have resolved the problem with the network timeout, it turned out to be more name resolution issues which I think I have resolved.

Now I am simply getting a 404 error, the alfresco log appears to be the same and google is not finding any usable results…

Talking to myself again

So I commented out the chunks of the properties file that are causing these errors, and although the log file no longer has the exceptions in it, I am still getting the 404 error when I try to access the alfresco site.

Unfortunatly at this point I have only one conclusion available, Alfresco 3.0b doesn't work and I need to explore alternatives…
