MS Office and Open Office Integration does not work

I use VirtualBox and I've installed a virtual machine (Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 X64).

On the Linux server I installed "alfresco-enterprise-installer-3.4.0-linux-x64.bin".

I just want to use Alfresco Document Management System (explorer and share) and so I've selected these installoptions:

    - SharePoint
    - Records Management
    - Web Quick Start
    - Web Project Management (AVM)
    - Quickr Connector Support
    + OpenOffice
I also have imported  the user profiles from the Windows Active Directory into Alfresco Explorer (Share).

Different users use Alfresco Explorer to manage (upload, edit, delete, etc.) the documents (MS Office, Open Office, PDF etc.) . The client computers are equipped with Windows 7 x64.

Now I want to integrate MS Office (and OpenOffice) into the Alfresco system, as promised on the Alfresco website. http://www.alfresco.com/products/document-management/ -> "Alfresco looks just like SharePoint to Microsoft Office, allowing users to upload, check-in, check-out and modify content right from Office"

    Open Office 3.2
    JDK 1.6 / JRE 6
Server:
    Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 X64
    Alfresco 3.4.0 (with Java, MySQL, Tomcat, OpenOffice 3.2)
I have read Alfresco Wiki, but I find no solution for my case (Serve Linux, Client Windows).
Can someone help me? I would be very grateful…

So:
I have "alfresco-labs-Word2003-addin-3c.zip" downloaded and installed according to the instructions.
    1. Extract the file.
    2. run setup.exe
. NET Programmability Support is already using MS Offico 2007 installed.

Then I opened a Word file (MS Office 2007) and top right is appeared the Add-Ins button.

And I've started on the Linux mashine "Alfresco server" (./ alfresco.sh start).

after the starting I can log in the browser under http://123.45.678.90:8080/alfresco (Example) as "imported users from the AD" and also as admin.

then I run Alfresco Office Add-in and started to configure (how the wiki page http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Microsoft_Office#Configuration. This is for the Alfresco 3.0. I assume that it also applies to Alfresco 3.4)

Username: admin, password: secret

and put check mark in "Remember authentication details"

When I click on the button "Save settings" user can not authenticate. "Couldn't authenticat with Alfresco server"

Two points:

1 - That version of the add-ins is *really* old! Where did the installer come from? You need one that matches your server version.

2 - Alternatively, you can choose to install a SharePoint module on the server instead which gives you access to the Alfresco server from Office's built-in sharing features.

I admit it's not the best wording…

need something else? I have "alfresco-community-spp-3.4" file downloaded, but I don't know what I should do with it? where or how to install it?

What files should I configure on the Alfresco server ( is  Linux SLES x64)?

If you are referring to the AMP file, you need to apply the amp to the alfresco.war file using their module tool

According to your first post, you've already selected it via the installer.

In Office, connect to the "SharePoint server" at http://<server>:7070/alfresco
