Where exactly to put the 'fileSystemRootDirectory' parameter and which value ?
I am having the same problem (even I did the ant demo.setup and besides the modeler everything is working fine).

Hi,

Just open web.xml in [tomcat_dir]/webapps/[activiti_modeler_dir]/WEB-INF, and add this after all the other <context-param> elements:

<context-param>
    <description>Filesystem directory that is used to store models</description>
    <param-name>fileSystemRootDirectory</param-name><param-value>your_path</param-value>
</context-param>

…where your_path can be something like (in my case): /home/sebastian/activiti/apps/activiti-model-repository

This fix worked also for me although I wonder why this can't be automatic, maybe it already is but not working.

I tried it just now with a fresh alpha-3 and the only thing I changed was the build.properties to:
downloads.dir=../downloads (instead of ../../.. or whatever)

If this is working in alpha-4 just ignore me

Normally if you just unzip the zip file without changing any folder name, it works automatically by searching for the activiti unzipped root folder.

I just tried it with alpha 3 here on a fresh windows and all seems to work. Could you explain which steps you've taken to try it ?

I know where the fault is.

I unpacked the zip file to a folder named "Activiti" and the regex is searching for "activiti" -> case!!!

So..that's the problem. Could this be solved another way without the hacky regex and without setting this fileSystemRootDirectory parameter manually?
