Hi,
I have added a new mimetype document by following the wiki guide "http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Adding_a_Mime_Type" however when uploading a document of my newly specified mimetype only the "Content type" automatically default to what I have specified in my mimetype-custom-extensions.xml file but not the "Type".
I was wondering if there is something else I need to configure for this.
Any guidance or tips would be very much appreciated.
Cheers,
W

This behaviour is correct. The Content Type field relates to the mime type, usually according to the extension of the file you uploaded.
The Type field however represents the object type the content will have in the repository, normally this will just be "Content" i.e. cm:content. If you have configured a custom type to appear in this list it won't get automatically selected.
