Migrating existing HSQLDB to MySql

I have an existing installation running with the HSQLDB.  I am now in the postion where I need to switch the installtion over to MySql.  From what I have found the database must be set at installation time.  Is this conclusion wrong?  If so can anybody point me in the correct direction?  Alternatively, is it possible to dump the contents of the HSQLDB and import them into MySql?

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using 2.0.0.  Thanks for the link.  The process worked without a hitch once I fully read step 3 of the bootstrap process.
