Is there any migration utility available for migrating data from Hummingbird DM to Alfresco?
It's a client requirement ,they want to migrate there existing document(around 3000) from Hummingbird document management system into alfresco system along with meta data.
How could i do it?
Do I use CIFS but then How can I get meta data?
How can I store a user define meta data about document like milestone id,department type at the of migration?

Thanks in Advanced

Alfresco has tools to import/export documents to/from the document repository in an ACP file (just an xml file). You could export your information from Hummingbird and create your own ACP file that includes your documents and metadata.

Check out the documentation for import/export information.

There is also a program in the forge that says it will help create an ACP file from a CSV file. Never used it myself, but might be something to try.
