Follow-up on the question.
Will the custom metadata I created in Enterprise be available within Share without re-creating it in Share?

There's only one place for meta-data and that's the alfresco repository.     It does not matter which client you use.

What has changed in recent versions of Share is the ability to see and update that metadata.
