Hi,

I am getting confused with manual task and user task.  With user task when the assignee completes the task it moves on to the next task in the workflow.  How about manual task, there is no assignee as its manual.  who will make sure the manual task is complete?

Thanks,
Raj

Userguide:
A Manual Task defines a task that is external to the BPM engine. It is used to model work that is done by somebody, which the engine does not need to know of, nor is there a system or UI interface. For the engine, a manual task is handled as a pass-through activity, automatically continuing the process from the moment process execution arrives into it.

The flow just runs over the task, none needs to complete that…

Hi,
Then what is the use of manual task. Is there any advantage of defining it in the process flow?

No. The manual task is used to indicate a manual task, outside of the technical automation of the process. Eg. 'walk over to there and chat with that person'
