Location of Extension Configuration Files

I've a dude, It's possible create a jar with the extension configuration files, and locate in the next location of Tomcat
<TOMCAT_HOME>/shared/lib/AlfrescoExtension.jar ?

Should be possible, take a look at alfresco/web-client-application-context.xml for an example of how the locations of config files are specified.
