I am a very new to Alfresco, I saw some presentations and tutorials on the web site, but I haven't found answers to these questions (maybe I was not patient enough when searching, sorry in that case):

1. Can the GUI of Alfresco be easily localized into some other language ?

2. Can new attributes be added to documents, folders etc. ?

3. Can users be imported/synchronized from an existing identity database (LDAP) ?

4. Can new type of actions be easily added into workflows <

5. What kind of user activity auditing/logging Alfresco offers ?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

1. Yes very easily. There are many language packs already available and it's just a matter of converting a bunch of properties files from one language to another.

2. Yes you can add a custom model with additional types, properties and aspects. It is also possible to enable to the web-client UI to display view and user edit those properties via configuration.

3. Yes that is a feature.
4. Yes workflows are very configurable, full JBPM workflow is supported (i believe a graphical editor is available for Eclipse)
5. Full auditing is supported. It can be very granular if you like, right down to individual service calls.

Hope this helps,

Kevin
