Hi,

We are planning to  build a commercial product and as part of it we would like to embed Alfresco in our application (without SSO option).
What are the license implications if we go for this?

Thanks.

I am not a lawyer (and I would strongly recommend that you consult one for this topic!), but as I understand it, if you use Alfresco Labs and intend to distribute (either for free or commercially) your product, then you will be required to license your product under the GPL v2 (which means, amongst other things, that you must also distribute the source code for your product).  If, on the other hand, you purchase a subscription to Alfresco Enterprise, you would receive a more typical commercial license and not the GPL, so those restrictions won't apply.

There are more details on Alfresco's license at http://www.alfresco.com/legal/licensing/faq/.

Cheers,
Peter
