Actually i am evaluvating alfresco… now working in 1.4 version.. for this i need to know some features are available in alfresco…in cmsmatrix they given  possible to implement but i dont know how to implement…can anyone help me please..

(1)In the authoring interface, content should be organized in a way that it’s easy to locate an article. It should mirror the organization in the web site. Please note that the physical organization of the articles could be different, for instance, in the case of re-usable content

(2)Support FTP for web resources (images, podcasts, pdfs etc.) i.e. drag and drop instead of uploading into the CMS

(3)Content re-usability – Have the ability to create and edit the article once but use it in 2 different locations. The authoring environment should display the reference to both the locations so that it’s easy to locate the article instead of remembering the actual physical location.

(4)Should be able to preview articles in different sites with different display templates.

(5)The authoring interface for an article should have an UI to enter the content and the associated meta information. The article should have at least 1 conditional meta (Display other metas based on the value selected, like DHTML)

Thanks
Naveen

Yes.  In our 2.0 Preview, we now support Web Projects.  Web Projects support normal website / web app directory structure.  Organize your site / app as you see fit.

(2)Support FTP for web resources (images, podcasts, pdfs etc.) i.e. drag and drop instead of uploading into the CMS

Yes.  Alfresco supports a CIFS interface.  This enables drag-and-drop of any website / web app / or web asset (images, podcasts, pdfs, executable code, etc.) directly into an Alfresco-managed Web Project.  Any and all current directory structures and assets are transparent imported, secured, and managed in Alfresco once drag-and-dropped via the CIFs (FTP also supported) interface.

(3)Content re-usability – Have the ability to create and edit the article once but use it in 2 different locations. The authoring environment should display the reference to both the locations so that it’s easy to locate the article instead of remembering the actual physical location.

I encourage you to download and walk-through the WCM Eval Guide with our 2.0 Preview.  We now support XML authoring and multi-channel output.  You can automate the generation of content from a single data source and specify rules for automatically naming and storing is two separate locations of the site (or, through workflow, to multiple sites).

(4)Should be able to preview articles in different sites with different display templates.

Yes.  We support robust in-context preview of staged versions of a site - so any automated workflow task will enable a reviewer to preview content  in one or mutliple sites.

(5)The authoring interface for an article should have an UI to enter the content and the associated meta information. The article should have at least 1 conditional meta (Display other metas based on the value selected, like DHTML)

We now support XForms for content authoring.  This enable both content and metadata capture in a straight-forward, powerful way in a single easy-to-use form.  Once again, I encourage you to evaluate our 2.0 Preview.

Let me know if addtional questions.
