Is it possible to create a custom table in Alfresco

Hi,

I am new to alfresco, and wanted to create a custom table in alfresco to store some additional data.

For example in Liferay Portal we are creating tables through service.xml. Like wise is there any way to create custom table in Alfresco.

Hi and welcome to Alfresco!

I don't really know liferay, but I assume that what you're trying to do here is adding custom metadata to an existing type.
If so, yes it is possible by adding aspects and/or your own content type.
To get started, I'd recommend Jeff's tutorial:

Not exactly the custom metadata to an existing type,  I want to create table with some columns.

By this way I can store some additional data.

If there is any way, please help…
