Is Alfresco-Labs-3Stable-Full-Setup.exe is sufficient?

I am having windows server 2003 machine.
Its a clean machine.
I installed "Alfresco-Labs-3Stable-Full-Setup.exe" only.
But start -> programs -> virtual server . I am getting a Tomcat window . it is giving some lines keeps on writing new lines ..
Where is the interface for Alfresco?

I am not understanding where  I went wrong.
Is Alfresco-Labs-3Stable-Full-Setup.exe is sufficient?

Or do I need to install Java, Tomcat, etc separately?

I read that Alfresco-Labs-3Stable-Full-Setup.exe is sufficient. No need to install anything.
What is the use of giving this exe?

I am in urgent need.

If someone installed on Windows machine please tell me the required softwares , steps, urls , blogs related to this..

The virtualisation server is an optional part of Alfresco WCM and runs in its own instance of Tomcat 5.5.   This is what you are seeing.   

Alfresco itself is the other instance of Alfresco and typically users first start by accessing it from one of the web interfaces.

My simple requirement is I want to see the UI of Alfresco.

I want to configure Alfresco in my system.

I want to see Alfresco in my windows system.

Please tell me the steps in detail.

Hi

It is not displaying any Alfresco content.
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" page appears.
Nothing more than that.

Tell me one thing is it possible to install in Windows system or not?


Tell me whether I can use installers or not?

If you want me install jdk, mysql ,extracting tar files etc .. separately I will do that.
But please tell me the procedure.
Just show me the big picture of Alfresco.
Two weeks over. Still unable to.

Is WCM, Record Management etc modules will come automatically once I installs Alfresco labs?
Or do I need to configure anything for getting these modules.

Please tell me in step wise so that I can proceed.

Alfresco works fine on Windows. I gave you a link to the install guide and Page 12 should help.

If you use the installer you should be up and running in a few minutes.

WCM and RM are separate modules.  
WCM requires a confuiguration file to be added to start it.  
RM is a separate "AMP" that you install.

Hi friends,

I am Sreedhar and having windows server 2003.
Alfresco  InstallJammer Wizard Complete window came.
After that I am running Alfresco server.
Do I need to change anything in  "alf_start.bat" file ?
means like mentioned the Alfresco installation path "c:\Alfresco " etc
I am not installing in the default location : I am installing in D:\Alfresco
Does it make any difference?

What should happen if we are double clicking on Alf_start.bat file?
For me a flickering is happening.
I think Tomcat should run. After double clicking batch file what should appear in the window?

Do I need to start any other services or servers?

Web Content Management
Collaboration
Content Platform and Repository
Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS)
Records Management
Image Management

If not coming out of the box can you please tell me how to configure or install them?
Please tell me in a simple language step by step as I am a novice user.

hi,
I need to create a website under Web content Management in alfresco , which should be running dynamically ,
What i have done is , it with dream weaver using style sheet and all the pages are connected dynamically using the buttons.

Now i can call it all in alfresco by using Web projects under Web project -> DemoWCM (name of my website)->Website 'DemoWCM' sandbox 'admin' Root -> Sample3 (folder)-> All my html files for the website , .fla , .swf , and .css files (I put all these file in sample3 folder using create -> Add content )……And i changed the Permission for admin for Read, Write, Delete.

Am using:
Alfresco lab3c (c1342)

Now doubt i have to be cleared is :

1. :?: Most important question is …My Task is WEB CONTENT MANAGEMENT .i have brought all the .fla , .swf , and .css files into websit under a folder one by one ,which may or may not be correct way for Web Content Management . :?:
I need how to do WCM using WAR file. ? ? ? ? :?:

i have a WAR file and folder which i cannot import into Alfresco …..
i tried it using CREATE -> BULK IMPORT but it shows following :

" Please correct the errors below then click OK. A system error happened during the operation: Unable to process Zip file. File may not be of the expected format. Uploaded Content simplejsp.war ZIP file contains high-byte filename characters such as Japanese, Chinese or Korean."

Please guide me out
