Is Activiti a server/embedded process?

first of all thank you for this great tool.

We started working with Activiti and were wondering, whether the Activiti engine is running as a server process/embedded process in order to get a better understanding of how the engine works.

Hi Philcio,

I don't really understand your question. Activiti can run as a standalone application in your application server. But it can also be included as a dependency in your own application and run embedded. Is that what you mean?
