Hello guys!

I've got a problem with my alfresco :
When I launch : /opt/alfresco/alfreco start
Tomcat seems to work, but alfresco don't….
I've tried to reach :
localhost:8081/
localhost:8081/alfresco/faces/jsp/dashboards/container.jsp
localhost:8081/alfresco/
but nothing appears….

I manage to launch it just one time, and when I reboot I didn't work anymore…

Are you using Alfresco 2.1 Community ? Please double-check your DB connectivity … you can also search for related posts.

Sorry, this is a case of stupidity on my part.  I thought my test environment was using HSQL when in fact it was using mySQL (which wasn't running).  Things appear to be working.

Hey,
I have made a test case on my personal computer using oracle database, and it worked perfectly.

Then I was requested to move it to a different server, so I copied the alfresco directory to the new computer, and when I tried to run it, it gave me that same exception!

I checked and the new computer has a connection to the database, the ports are wide open, and it seems as if everything is the same.

Is the rest of your stacktrace the same (including "Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No user transaction is active") ? Are you using Alfresco 2.1 Community ? If so, then you should triple-check your DB connectivity and configuration (including DB properties, override of hibernate dialect, oracle jdbc jar on classpath) as per other posts.

Alternatively, you could consider setting up a separate instance using Alfresco 2.1 Enterprise or Alfresco 2.9B Community Labs … both of which should display the real cause of the error in the stacktrace. The latter release should only be used for testing and evaluation.
