Hi,

I Downloaded the package via get http://us.dl.alfresco.com/release/labs/build-1526/Alfresco-Labs-3Stable-Linux-x86-Install
Applied Permissions, Iinstalled all the prereqs and

When I try the install either just by running ./Alfresco-Labs-3Stable-Linux-x86-Install or with the option –console I get no errors or anything and nothing happens.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I am having the exact same problem as the person above. I guess I'm missing something because I'm new to Linux. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes it did. And I figured out how to install it. Just used "./file_name". But after installing it and Java, few of my package dependencies broke and I was forced to remove them. Maybe Java caused problem as I have heard its not stable on Debian. Is there a graphical installer that could do the job on Debian?
I have even tried installing KnowledgeTree on this machine but apparently their installer doesn't work on 64 Debian! Maybe 64 bit is the problem here too…In the meantime, I am trying one last time to install Alfresco.

The installer for graphical installation is the same - start the file without the option "–console". But it only works when you have a X-environment. Alfresco-installer in graphical mode starts a java-console!
Some time ago i did an installation on an old SUSE (9.0!) and it worked without problems.

This page explains how to have a graphical environment on console.

Anyone using Alfresco on Lenny, then?

thanks

Hi,

Experienced the same problem on a x64 debian lenny OpenVZ container.
It looks like the problem is 64 bits related, you should consider installing the "ia32-libs" package in order to run the Alfresco installer in console mode.
apt-get install ia32-libs
If not, the installer will simply not run without returning any error. (Tested with lenny x64 under OpenVZ)
