Including link to external subprocess

I am confused as to how to include an externally defined subprocess in a process definition.  I have created a process that I wish to reuse in a number of places.  In order to invoke it from another process (call activity), I add a task (or collapsed subprocess), and modify the property attributes (e.g., 'Is a Call Activity'), but it doesn't seem to generate a callActivity element in the resulting BPMN XML.  When I expand the subprocess (that I have tried to define as a call activity), the modeler opens a new tab of the same (parent) process, instead of the subprocess (call activity).

Can you please direct me to some documentation or help me understand how I should be incorporating reusable processes in other processes.  Thank you.

Hi,

I have the same problem.
I need to do exactly the same thing and this is a key feature in our evaluation to migrate from JBPM.
This feature is broken or was not implemented yet?

Thanks,
Alessandro

This should be fixed in the 5.4 release. Did you test it with the latest download?

Hi everyone,
I've got in Activiti 5.5 still the same problems.
When I create a subprocess it opens the model itself and no new model.
I want to link it to an existing process to reuse it at several places.

Could it be that it is still buggy or not implemented in Activiti 5.5?

Thanks

It should be fixed in 5.5. I'll investigate.

Joram -

I'm using a freshly downloaded and installed copy of 5.5 and I'm also seeing this problem. Do you have an update on what you found out or when the problem might be resolved? Thanks!

5.6 was just released, maybe you can give that a try instead of 5.5

Hi,
I have activiti 5.5 and I'm facing the same problem. Ronald suggested to try out 5.6. Anyone tried it already? Is the problem fixed?

Thanks
