Inbound SMTP - e-mail content to folder

Hi.

I'm using inbound SMTP on my Alfreco 3.4.d to drop e-mails to specific folders and it works like a charm.
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Inbound_SMTP_Email_Server_Configuration

By default it saves e-mail body (as a text file) and attachment into designated folder. What I need is only the attachment. E-mail body should be ignored.

Any pointers about where/how I could change it's behavior would be much appreciated.

The Email Handlers are "pluggable".   You need to add your own.

I suggest you start with the existing FolderEmailMessageHandler.

And please consider contributing your solution back Smiley Happy

Hi mrogers,

kindly share with us how one can email content to a folder in alfresco share(under a site)?

You can email into any folder with an "email" alias or by emailing to the DBID which is less helpful.
See the wiki for details on how to add an email alias.   (Although I think the doc will use Explorer rather than Share)

There's an enhancement request open to automatically add email alias to share sites but its not yet considered or implemented.

In addition as mentioned above its possible to add email handlers to process inbound messages so for example emails could become comments on a document or whatever is appropriate to your requirements.
