In Web Client, how do you tell the type of content?

Hi All,

After you have created a piece of content using your custom type, how do you tell what type it is? There doesn't seem to be a field that says "type" in the property sheet of the web client interface.

Thanks for any advice!

The type is not a "property" of a node.

You obtain the type with a call to the node service.
NodeService.getType()

Hi Mr Rogers,

The type is not a "property" of a node.

You obtain the type with a call to the node service.
NodeService.getType()

Just to be clear: it means I can look at a space in the Web Client and not tell whether item X is a press release or an internal memo. I can only tell this information in code.

That's pretty core information. a bit like Windows Explorer not showing if a file is a word doc or excel spreadsheet.

Could you have another go at asking your question please.

For a start which "web client" are you talking about, Explorer, Share or your own?

I was telling you the primary, fundamental way that you ***CAN*** get the type of a node.

Alfresco Web Client, as per below. There doesn't seem to be a way to tell what custom type I have created content as, e.g. just cm:content or sc:legalDoc or sc:marketingDoc - from the model.
