img tags being changed by XSL

I have an XSL template, set up to generate JSP. Inside this form, I use a JSP include. The referenced file (let's call it "included.jsp") is generated by a web form using another XSL template (let's call it "included.xsl"). Inside included.xsl, there is an image tag, something like this:
<img alt="My Image" src="/images/myimage.jpg" />
However, when included.jsp is generated, the trailing slash, needed for the page to validate, has been stripped away. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I'm still battling with this. If you need more information, please let me know. The issue only seems to come up when generating a partial JSP document using an XSL stylesheet. Image tags in whole documents close correctly.
