Hey guys,

i know there is an open bug concerning using attachment extraction on richtext mails. but i have this behaviour on html mails as well? when dragging mails within outlook 2010 to my alfresco imap box my mails get extracted to winmail.dat files, if they are text/html. plaintext mails work fine. i am not sure, but i believe this ought to work already, and i have somehow deconfigured this while trying to cope with the german special umlaute?

though richtext mails do NOT work, html and plaintext should, shouldn't they?

kind regards,

Oliver Zieger

What exactly do you mean by "not working"?

hi,

sorry, this was not a precise info Smiley Sad

by not working i meant, that attchment extraction of richtext/html mails does create a directory, but does not extract the document but rather a winmail.dat file. independent of what attachment i have. i tried pdfs, and worddocs.

kind regards,

Oliver

Thanks for the clarification.

Unfortunately if you are using Outlook's proprietary mail format then Alfresco does not yet have the code to unwrap it.   As you have seen it is a known issue that is being worked on.

There is an option in Outlook to send "standard" rfc822 email messages which may help.

hey guys,

i am pretty sure, that this works, because i could change exchange server settings concerning winmail.dat, and html mails. i'll keep you up2date. for my first tests it looks promising, that using those outlook/exchange setting you can cover this issue, on my setup. exchange 2003/outlook2010

cheers, Oliver
