Hi,

After an upgrade of Alfresco 4.2.c to 4.2.e, I can't connect to Outlook with my IMAP address.What can I do to resolve my problem?

Informations Smiley SadI am a bad english speaker, sorry!)

I have 2 instance of Alfresco 4.2.e on on the same network :
[hostname : SRVALF - IP : 10.10.10.01] - Windows Server 2008 R2
[hostname : CLIALF - IP : 10.10.10.02] - Windows 7 x 64 bits

the domain name is COMPANY.local

I have tried to create an IMAP account with Outlook (with CLIALF), using SRVALF like IMAP server.

The Error from Outlook :
incoming mail server (IMAP): The connection to the server failed

My alfresco-global.properties contains :

# use these properties to send test message during start of subsystem
mail.testmessage.send=false

#IMAP Configuration
imap.server.enabled=true
imap.server.port=143
imap.server.host=SRVALF.COMPANY.local

I don't know why, but, I can't see nothing in the logs.

Any errors in the logs?   Especially with the startup of the IMAP subsystem.

You say the DNS is SRVALF but then set map.server.host=SRVALF.COMPANY.local

Does your hostname resolve correctly?

It was a mistake I would like to write hostname and not DNS
I am trying to use SRVALF like my IMAP server.

So :
Alfresco 4.2.e installed on :
[IP : 10.10.10.01 - hostname : SRVALF] Windows Server 2008 R2
[IP : 10.10.10.02 - hostname : CLIALF] Windows 7 x64 bits
Domain name : COMPANY.local

I can access Alfresco on SRVALF doing :
- 10.10.10.01:8081/share
- srvalf.pisys.local:8081/share
- srvalf:8081/share

** The authentication is done by LDAP.
I can connect on alfresco with my LDAP login, and I received notifications on file change (However I have seen that I can't receive emails when they are a product of rules. Perhaps it is linked?)

I am going to test create an IMAP account and test send emails by a rule.

** I don't use the default port for Alfresco !

Alfresco réinstallation

C:/Alfresco2
database port : 5433
Web : 127.0.0.1
Tomcat port: 8081
Tomcat stop port : 8006
SSL Tomcat port: 8444
AJP Tomcat Port : 8010
FTP Alfresco Port : 22

Sharepoint protocole 7071
LibreOffice port 8101

I am going to test an instance with default port to see if it isn't link.
The errors which come from Outlook doesn't cause any errors in log.
I can't verify if my client can ping SRVALF (ping is absent in my system), but SRVALF can ping my client.

It seems that my IMAP configuration doesn't work, but it is strange for me… The Outlook error is the same if I use a other client addresses for my IMAP server (it is normal it doesn't work for the other addresses but I don't know why it doesn't work for the SRVALF address)

I have tried

# use these properties to send test message during start of subsystem
mail.testmessage.send=false

#IMAP Configuration
imap.server.enabled=true
imap.server.port=143
imap.server.host=SRVALF.COMPANY.local

# use these properties to send test message during start of subsystem
mail.testmessage.send=false

#IMAP Configuration
imap.server.enabled=true
imap.server.port=143
imap.server.host=10.10.10.01
