IMAP and 8bit content in mail: content-manipulation

Hello,

I don't know if the following problem is a misconfiguraion or a bug, so I will first ask here.

I have the following problem with Alfresco CE, 3.3g, locale: de_DE.UTF-8

I tried to use the imap-functionality with Thunderbird. If I copy a mail: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-15" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

from Thunderbird to Alfresco-Imap, all mutated vowels (German "Umlaute") are destroyed, e.g.

…  Ihnen darüber. Gerne können …

becomes

… Ihnen dar???ber. Gerne k???nnen …

Is this a configuration issue or a (know) bug? I did not find an issue in jira.

May be a bug.

Please can you raise the issue in JIRA and attach an example of the message that is giving trouble.
