Huge UIDVALIDITY giving IMAP client problems

I've been trying to connect a Zimbra client to Alfresco 3.2r2 with no luck. It works with Thunderbird just fine.

The testing phase works fine but when the Zimbra client does a SELECT on the Alfresco INBOX folder, it gets a huge UIDVALIDITY response value of 1266958011581. This is on the order of 41 bits worth of value (126FC950CBD hex).

The Zimbra folks have taking this as a bug on their part, but I'm posting to see if there could be fix to Alfresco which would put this value in a more reasonable range.

I submitted the issue to the Zimbra folks. Their response:
According to the IMAP RFC UIDVALIDITY should be a 32-bit unsigned integer …

Is this an issue that should be entered into the Alfresco issue tracker, or is there a more recent RFC or best practices that Alfresco is following?
