hi i am using suse linux and alfresco2 with mysql.while try start alfresco i am getting error that HTTP Status 404 - The requested resource /alfresco/is not available.

i thougt it was port bind error, so i changed 50500 to 50555 in the following files.
clt-context.xml,remote-avm-test-context.xml,web-client-config-wcm.xml.
but the same error is continuing.please help me to install

I'm having the exact same issue, after following the README_mysql.txt to a 'T'. It works perfectly when using its own SQLite DB, but if I try to use MySQL it fails with *exactly* the same verbiage as you. I've tried various versions of JRE/JDK, but with no improvements. Tomcat runs fine, but Alfresco is a no-go. Does anybody have any insight here?

Can you make sure that tomcat is fully down before trying to start alfresco?

Check to make sure there are no process hanging around

ps auxwww | grep java

If there are, kill them and then try to start Alfresco.
