how to use national characters in resource bundles

Hello
This is my first post, I hope in good place.
I'm writing my AMP file. Among files there is one resource bundle which contains labels in polish. I wrote them using HTML entities - ó ł - but Alfresco converts every & to & to I cannot use my county characters. Any ideas how to cope with it?

You have to use unicode encoding, \udddd notation
