how to run created ECM on another machine?

hi all.,
   if i am creating a project on ECM that will be on my machine. if the same i want to put down on another( like one created c project  can be copied via .exe so that it can be reused easily.)do i need to create all spaces,users,groups again from scratch? is there any simple way to do this? as any build file?,war file etc????

Do you mean Alfresco instance, when you say ECM?
If so, you just have to copy the folder "Alfresco" from your location to another location.
Be sure to be careful with your Data directory.

If you are talking about moving the configuration, there is export and import facility in Alfresco.

The correct way to migrate an instance of Alfresco with all it's data (including content, users, groups, etc) is to do a backup and restore. This is described in detail in the wiki at http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Backup_and_Restore.

Alfresco stores the metadata and indexes in the DB & documents in the filesystem, which is under alf_data.
Its your DB and alf_data, which you probably need to take care of when you do a migration.
Ofcourse not to miss the configuration settings which falls under tomcat/shared folder.
The wiki link given above will give more information on the backup and recovery procedure.

good morning….and thanks all…
   i dont know the exact phrase to use but let me explain what i want….
   we run the set up of alfresco and all those folders and all get installed but then we have to create spaces and all as per our requirement.but if i am creating an ECM  on my machine using alfresco. now the users,spaces,rules set to these spaces will be stick to the enviornment. now if i want to give whatever things i had created to other person for use then what i have to give???or what configurations i have to set? so that he can also use it and if want add or delete something.
  or as said do the set up and copy paste the Alfresco folder to new machine?

   i did the copying of Alfresco on new machine ….but some times it is giving problem of starting the tomcat…(tomcat starting fail )why?

Please post your logs or exception then only we could figure out a reason for the startup failure.
