Ouch. I am not that familiar with Alfresco so I ask here: What would I have to expect if I would go with the dev version of Alfresco? Huge problems?
I know that some projects are mostly solid even if going with the dev version. What about Alfresco? Would you strongly advise me to not go with dev?
The Alfresco installation is mainly for a friend who is in some kind of computer club and they just need a place where they want to manage documents. Nothing special. No big usage.
I can easy keep the installation up to date (aka: installing new dev versions now and then) and calm the group down if there are small problems.
What I can not handle well: Data loss (because I don't know Alfresco (jet) good enough to know how to handle that). And I can not afford to invest hours after each update if I need to migrate or export/import data.
How is an update in Alfresco normally? I just can update the WAR and redeploy and then apply some configuration again, without loosing data in the storage or do I need to go the hard way by exporting/importing?
