How to Hide Content Type

How can I hide the "Content" type in the dropdown of the checkin wizard?
I would only like to show the list of Types that I've defined in my Content Model.

I'd like to do the same thing - ditto for properties in the property sheet - other than editing the web-client-config.xml I don't see how to do this.
