how to get the selected items in checkboxes.

     i have created check boxes in advance search . i need to get the values that have been selected . i.e is i need to get the node ref of that content and  the path of the content . can any body suggest me how to get that .

yes
say if I select an item ,then it has to return  the path of that selected file and node ref of that particular file.
