How to escape 'dot' in folder names

Hello,
I am having trouble with uploading files to folder which contains a "." (dot) in its name,
Is there a way to escape this just like escaping space with _X0020_

You should encode the file name using the ISO9075 format, in Alfresco you will find a class for this.
