I want to know how to enable license management function on Alfresco 4.0.c Community Edition. I found below keys defined in resource bundle files:
license.field.Days=日
license.field.Documents=內容对象
license.field.HeartBeatDisabled=关闭心跳检测功能
license.field.Holder=持有人
license.field.Issued=已发行
license.field.Issuer=发行人
license.field.LicenseMode=许可证模式
license.field.MaxDocs=最多內容对象数
license.field.MaxUsers=最多用户数
license.field.RemainingDays=剩余天数
license.field.Subject=许可证主题
license.field.Users=用户数
license.field.ValidUntil=有效期至
But I didn't find where to input a license key or how to generate a new license key. Because more and more customers want to get support service from us, we want to enable license management for each Alfresco instance. Thus we can setup a dedicate team to deliver Alfresco service to all our customers.
It is some interesting why we have such a wonderful business chance. While we were implementing customer specified MIS systems, we have delivered Alfresco Community edition to help them manage their file assets. We didn't make any customization and just deployed the instance on their servers. Then we helped them to setup directory structure and showed them how to use Alfresco CMS. It didn't take us much effort and we didn't charge on it. But from last year, more and more customers want us to provide training lessons and technical support(Shamefully they want to replace the customized MIS with Alfresco). We cannot reject such kind of requests and we cannot provide such kind of service freely for ever. So we want to charge on it based on MaxUsers. That's why I am now trying to enable license management function on Alfresco Community Edition. The business scenario would like this:
1, We generate a license with MaxUsers, validUntil and other required parameters
2, We deploy Alfresco Community edition to our customer and input the license key
3, We re-generate a license key if the old one expired or MaxUsers was exceeded
4, We can negotiate with our customer with service price
Could you please tell me is it possible to do this on Community edition? And how to enable the license management function? Thanks in advance.
