  I would like to know how to customize specific version format such as "1.0.0" .

I know this is an old post, but I am also looking to do this. 
I need to change the format to be <major>.<minor>.<maintenance>
I'm new to Alfresco and have been search the forums + internet all day.
Is there an easy way to do this?  If not how else would I go about doing it.
Any pointers is appreciated.
